Ciao a tutti,
this is a great piece of news: a film in which we believed, the film that opened our series this Fall is the Italian film chosen to participate to the Oscar award as best foreign film! I am talking about "La sconosciuta" by Tornatore. I just read in the Corriere today:
L'Italia candida Tornatore all'Oscar

I don't think that La Dolce Vita was my type of film, since it didn't really have any plot and the ending left me in confusion. I didn't really like how the main character never had any realizations about how he was wasting his life away and throwing away the only thing that was good for him (aka Emma). It probably could have been a lot shorter and the same effect would have been achieved.
