Ciao a tutti,

attenzione attenzione... the next film will be...:

"Quando sei nato non puoi più nasconderti" (Once You're Born You Can No Longer Hide, by Marco Tullio Giordana, 2005). It is in Italian with English subtitles; 115 minutes.

As usual, date, time and place will be:

Here is the Synopsis:

"One night, during a sailing trip through the Mediterranean, Sandro, the only son of a wealthy Italian entrepreneur, falls overboard. Although given up for dead, Sandro, instead, has been rescued by a fishing boat carrying illegal immigrants to Italian shores. Thus begins an adventuresome return to Italy, at the end of which nothing will ever be the same."

this Wednesday March 14 we are going to watch a film by Elio Petri (Italy, 1970). This film is known in English as "Investigation of a Citizen above Suspicion" or "Investigation of a Private Citizen ". The film was awarded many prizes: in 1970, the Oscar for Best Foreign Film, the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes and the David di Donatello to Gian Maria Volonté; in 1971 Silver Ribbons for Petri, Gian Maria Volonté and Ugo Pirro.

A tender coming-of-age story and a sharp observation of dehumanizing corporate enterprise, Ermanno Olmi’s Il posto is a touching and hilarious tale of one young man’s stumbling entrance into the perils of modern adulthood. "Questo film traccia un ritratto dell'Italia del boom economico, con tutte le sue contraddizioni e le difficoltà sociali. "Il posto" è, inoltre, una sorta di proseguimento ideale de "Il tempo si è fermato".Domenico Cantoni, un ragazzo proveniente dalla provincia di Milano, lascia la Brianza per recarsi in città e trovare il tanto desiderato posto fisso. Una grande azienda ha indetto un concorso per alcuni posti da impiegato. Durante l'esame, in pausa pranzo, Domenico conosce Antonietta, soprannominata"Magalì". Anche la ragazza, che è di Milano, sta cercando un lavoro stabile. Domenico passa le prove e gli viene proposto inizialmente di ricoprire il ruolo di aiuto-usciere. Nonostante non fosse esattamente l'incarico sperato, egli accetta. Intanto egli viene a sapere che anche Magalì è stata assunta, ma trovandosi in un altro reparto i due non riescono ad incontrarsi. In occasione delle feste natalizie, essi si ritrovano nuovamente e Magalì invita Domenico ad andare insieme alla festa di Capodanno, organizzata dal CRAL aziendale. La sera del 31 dicembre, Domenico va al ballo, ma di Antonietta non c'è traccia. La sua delusione sembra inizialmente grande, solo il giorno dopo, Domenico si rincuora. Egli ha infatti appreso che, a causa della morte di uno dei dipendenti, la sua carriera da impiegato sta per iniziare. Gli vengono date una divisa e una scrivania tutta sua."
